NEW!! Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza. In late May, 2008, celebrated chef and hospitality entrepreneur Charlie Palmer brings his signature progressive American cuisine to his latest restaurant, and its affiliated Next Vintage Wine Shop, opening at Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA.
With a deep and lasting infusion of classical French cuisine, Charlie Palmer's food has always been an extension of his personality - generous, robust and bold. Showcasing these flavors with elemental artisanal ingredients, the menu will reflect the master chef's innovative style in entrees such as Pan Roasted Halibut with Edamame-Lemon Puree and Grilled Kobe Rib Eye with Sake Glazed Turnips, accessorized by dishes like white asparagus gratin, truffle potato gnocchi, and coriander scented basmati rice, all complemented by Palmer's vast wine anthology. Palmer tapped Chef Amar Santana, who has spent the last five years working in Palmer's flagship restaurant, Aureole in New York City, to lead the kitchen as Executive Chef.

In February, 2008, Bloomingdale's announced plans to open a new store in Phoenix in 2010. Located in the CityNorth development, it will be Bloomingdale's first store in Arizona and its 10th store in the western United States. Bloomingdale's will encompass approximately 180,000 square feet on three levels and will feature exciting and distinctive upscale apparel and home merchandise with a focus on contemporary designer, bridge and luxury brands.
Situated in Phoenix's dynamic Northeast Valley, CityNorth will offer an interactive urban lifestyle with a synergistic mix of shopping, restaurants, residences, hotels and offices with cultural, civic and entertainment uses—all carefully woven together in a pedestrian-friendly environment. When completed, CityNorth will comprise more than 5.5 million square feet of development on 144 acres. CityNorth is located near the intersection of two major freeways—Loop 101 and State Route 51, making it readily accessible from throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.
