Historic Botanical Illustration, Modern Design
Integral to the line is its distinctive approach to design, blending historic botanical illustration and a modern sensibility to create products relevant and exciting for today. Products that promote garden as a lifestyle?inside and out, that remind us of our stewardship of nature, and that are beautiful, vibrant, and surprising. Bloomingdale's, with its longstanding international reputation for quality, creativity, and uniqueness, is a natural retail partner for the Botanical Garden to launch this innovative program.
From Tabletop to Wall
The various lines include a wide assortment of home goods ranging from dinner- and barware, both casual and elegant,to framed prints, stationary, and even faux flower stems and arrangements. All are inspired by 18th- and 19th-century books in the Mertz Library and fall loosely into the themes of flora, fauna, and graphic garden. Anchoring the collection are Lunt Silversmiths' offerings that encompass whimsical decorative tableware, flatware, and gifts. In addition, a bold and bright collection of melamine dinnerware brings entertaining outdoors, while glorious fine art reproductions of botanical illustrations and faux flowers inspired by the plant collections at the Garden add color indoors.

In May, Shop in the Garden will hold a three-day Orchid Sale Event at the 59th Street store offering Bloomingdale's customers an opportunity to purchase a glorious assortment of unusual and hard-to-find orchids that the Shop is known for during its annual Orchid Show, as well as easy-to-care for varieties perfect for the novice.
