BLOOMINGDALE?S OPENS POP-UP SHOPS TO BENEFIT THE NEW MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
NEW YORK, NY . . . Bloomingdale's and The New Museum of Contemporary Art have begun an extensive collaboration that debuts during Bloomingdale's fall fashion campaign-- Artrageous.
On September 6, Bloomingdale's will open special shops in its two New York City stores to sell products selected from the New Museum's distinctive store. 90% of those sales will benefit the museum. These New Museum outposts will be a one-stop shop for anyone who wants to stay on top of the newest and most important books, media, periodicals and giftables from the world of contemporary art. The New Museum's Store buying team have selected approximately 80 items from their comprehensive inventory to feature in the shops, which can be found on the second floor of Bloomingdale's 59th Street flagship store as well as the Soho unit at 504 Broadway. The shops, staffed by museum personnel, will be open during all Bloomingdale's store hours and remain in place until November 6. All proceeds from the New Museum Store go directly to support the artistic programs of the New Museum of Contemporary Art, a non-profit organization.
The institution will also benefit from a silent auction of original signed designer sketches, which will be displayed in the 59th Street store during the Artrageous campaign. In addition, later this fall, one of Bloomingdale's Lexington Avenue windows will showcase The New Museum?s new building, scheduled to open December 1.
