Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures? ?Lemony Snicket?s A Series of Unfortunate Events? Partners with Bloomingdale?s Department Stores to Celebrate the Back-to-School Season Movie staring Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep

Bloomingdale?s welcomes the Back-to-School season by partnering with Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures? ?Lemony Snicket?s A Series of Unfortunate Events,? featuring window and visual collaborations, a nationwide sweepstakes and select market special screenings for Bloomingdale?s customers.

Opening in theaters December 17th, the film, which stars Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, is about a wily villain with clever disguises and outrageous schemes, who is bent on swindling the Baudelaire orphans out of their family fortune.

?This theatrical partnership is the perfect fit for Bloomingdale?s and the Back-to-School season. It gives us the opportunity to work with a wonderful movie based on a literary property that means so much to so many young people,? said Tony Spring, Senior Executive Vice President of Marketing for Bloomingdale?s.

?Bloomingdale's is the ideal partner to showcase the outstanding production values of ?Lemony Snicket?s A Series of Unfortunate Events? in their high profile window displays and bring the excitement of the movie to their consumers with their Back-to-School program,? Lisa DiMarzio, Senior V.P., Worldwide Marketing Partnerships for Paramount Pictures.

The Lemony Snicket themed windows will be featured at Bloomingdale?s 59th Street Flagship location on Third Avenue from July 13th through July 28th. Seven additional Lemony Snicket themed windows will go up in branch stores on August 15th through August 29th in the following locations; North Michigan
Ave., Bergen County, Huntington, Aventura, Stanford, Sherman Oaks, and King of Prussia.

In-store promotions, which will begin on August 15th through September 21st in 25 Bloomingdale?s stores, will include Lemony Snicket themed floor displays and movie trailers in the kids departments along with a sweepstakes to enter to win a trip for four people to the movie premiere of ?Lemony Snicket?s A Series of Unfortunate Events.?

Also, customers who make a purchase of $100 or more in the kids department will receive a
voucher for the new book THE GRIM GROTTO: Book the Eleventh in a Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Lastly, customers making a purchase of $150 or more in the kids department in the New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or Miami markets will receive a voucher to attend a special screening of the movie ?Lemony Snicket?s A Series of Unfortunate Events.?
